چکیده
Shedlovsky's results,16 which differ from all others. There can be no doubt that most if not all, of these minima are spurious. One observation, which we have made may have an important bearing on this problem. In many cases, on addition of the first sample, the resistance of the solution drifted to lower values. The rate of this drift depended on the salt as well. as on the sample. In some instances the drift continued over a period of 24 hours. It may be noted, in this connection, that such drift was seldom observed with sodium salts and never with quaternary ammonium salts. It is possible that some of the minima that have been reported are reel; there is no doubt that some, if not many, are spurious.

Flutter Analysis of a Low Aspect Ratio Swept- Back Trapezoidal Wing at Low Subsonic Flow
A linear, aeroelastic analysis of a low aspect ratio swept back trapezoidal wing modeled as a cantilever plate is presented. An analytical and numerical formulation for both the aerodynamic forcing and structural response of the wing was developed. The analytical model uses a three dimensional time domain vortex lattice aerodynamic method. A Rayleigh-Ritz approach has been used to transfer equa...
متن کاملStatic and Dynamic Aeroelastic Analysis of a High Aspect Ratio Wing through CFD-CSD Coupled Method
The Solar powered unmanned aircraft have a high-aspect-ratio wings because SPUAV must satisfy the requirement of long endurance and high lift-drag ratio. Therefore, the structure of SPUAV‘s wings are structurally very flexible. The very high flexible wing might have large deformation and many aeroelastic problems. In this paper have a static/dynamic aeroelastic analysis through CFD-CSD coupled ...
متن کاملPower reduction and the radial limit of stall delay in revolving wings of different aspect ratio.
Airplanes and helicopters use high aspect ratio wings to reduce the power required to fly, but must operate at low angle of attack to prevent flow separation and stall. Animals capable of slow sustained flight, such as hummingbirds, have low aspect ratio wings and flap their wings at high angle of attack without stalling. Instead, they generate an attached vortex along the leading edge of the w...
متن کاملLoading Estimation of Flapping Wings under Aeroelastic Effect Using Finite Element Method
The aim of this paper is to provide an aeroelastic computational tool which determines the induced wing loads during flapping flight. For this purpose, a Finite Element (FE) code based on a four-node plate bending element formulation is developed to simulate the aeroelastic behavior of flapping wings in low incompressible flow. A quasi-steady aerodynamic model is incorporated into the aeroelast...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation of Asymmetry of Vortex Flow Over Single Delta Wings
It is generally believed that, on slender delta wings, there is a critical state at which strong asymmetric vortices are found along the leading edge on the lee-side of the delta wing. These asymmetric vortices can lead to high lateral forces even when slender delta wing is at the zero angle of yaw. Some experimental studies reported recently, cast considerable doubt as to the validity of the a...
